Holds your tenders in place and gives when you need it. I've tried a bunch of diferent brand trunks and none of them have adequate support. This is the only one that supports you because the seams are thick and well placed. If you are expecting loose fitsing trunks, these are not it. These should hold you in place and they actually shrink after washing, but they will strech out again. I would say, they are on the snug side, not loose. I'm a 32 waist and I buy the medium; I get a snug and supporting fit.
